Last weekend was the 34th Annual Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale held at the

 prestigious Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming.

# 678 "Wild 100" at the National Museum of Wildlife Art

Note: We are now posting once a week on Monday.

Trish and I just returned from the opening of "Wild 100" art show and sale at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming.  I exhibited two new sculptures in the show:  Shown below is "Tom" (Wild Turkey) and "M'Bogo" . . .  which is the Swahili word for African Buffalo.  I also exhibited one etching - "Bull Moose".

We drove over Togwotee Pass in a snowstorm last Thursday and returned with beautiful, clear fall weather.
Mid-September is always glorious in the Tetons and Jackson Hole.

Below, a group gathered at the museum to celebrate Jane Smith: Jane and Red were great friends of Carl Rungius and Jane was a patron of the museum.  We all toasted their incredible lives with Jane, Red, and Carl's favorite drink . . . a Manhattan!  Pictured are Sue Simpson Gallagher and Bill Kerr;  Veerla and Kent Ullberg with Joffa Kerr;  and yours truly.

A highlight of the weekend was spending time with Debbie Petersen . . .  the delightful and art impassioned
chairman of the National Museum of Wildlife Board of Trustees.

"Quest for the West" in Indianapolis, Indiana.  We enjoyed the exciting art-filled event with fellow artists, collectors, and museum folks!

Our hotel was directly across from the museum.  We enjoyed the view from our window of beautiful Indianapolis.

A wildly popular new event was the artist small works art swap:  Each artist's name was pulled out of a hat
that corresponded with the name of one of the artworks shown below.

Below, is my swap bronze - "Bushytail" . . . included is Dan Smith's fox painting.
The fox was on my shortlist of work I hoped to be drawn for and I won!

Below, are 3 more paintings on my shortlist by Robert Griffing, Logan Hagege, and George Hallmark.
All of the art was outstanding and my shortlist was not so short!

Below, is the fox painting by Dan Smith that I won . . . no one paints snow like Dan and I love the painting!

This coming weekend marks the 10th anniversary of "Quest for the West" art show and sale
 held at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The exhibition features 50 of American's top painters and sculptors and I am delighted to be an invited artist.

#643 Prix de West, 2015 . . . con't.

Prix de West weekend is over and my work was well received.  Happily, sales were brisk for not only my work but for the entire exhibition.  This year, 99 artists presented over 300 paintings, drawings, and sculptures.  For more than 40 years the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City  has hosted the Prix de West Invitational Art Exhibition and Sale, making it the nation's longest running contemporary Western art show.  This year marked my 27th year participating in the prestigious event . . .  the sculptures I exhibited this year can be seen in the previous two blog posts.
